I often work with franchise businesses, both franchisor & franchisee, within the B2C industries to build & develop their marketing campaigns & systems.
Who Don't I Work With?
I don't initially rule out working with any business, but I sometimes need to be convinced. There are businesses and industries where customer acquisition is more about either price, or bureaucratic process, than marketing. For example, manufacturing, or providing goods & services to the public sector.
I'm only willing to move forward & work with businesses where I feel like I can make a significant difference long term.
Why Do I Work With These Specific Businesses?
B2C businesses, whether you're a plumber, a dentist, a solicitor, or a franchise with 50 franchisees, all have one thing in common;
You are selling directly to the end customer, asking them to trust you, & part with their own money.
This is very different from selling to businesses, corporations or public organisations, where you're often dealing with mundane supply issues or compliance, going through tendering processes, with decisions made by teams & individuals who don't face any real personal consequences.
In many of these businesses & organisations, involving many layers of decision makers, it's not usually their own money that they're spending.
With B2C, it's just you and the customer.
Why Should I Choose To Work With You?
Because I learned this stuff by doing it myself & applying it in my own businesses.
It took years, monumental effort, lots of failure, & thousands of pounds of my own money. I measured success by results, in metrics of sales, revenue & profit.
Sounds obvious right?
Unfortunately not.
A lot of people in marketing don't consider sales, revenue & profit to be their job. They'd rather be judged on aesthetic creativity, social media engagement, or abstract concepts of 'branding' that they babble endlessly about on Linkedin.
They didn't learn by running their own businesses, so they don't think like a business owner.
They've never had to convert a stranger into a paying customer with their own money on the line, or had to figure out why the phone isn't ringing with no-one to bail them out.
I learned marketing by using it to grow my businesses, in sales, revenue & profit. That's why my ruthless focus will be on the sales, revenue & profit in your business.
